I would like all of you to answer this if you can:

Is it possible (or correct) to be Muslim and liberal/democrat/”lefty”?

Does being liberal equal being irreligious? Does being religious equal being conservative politically? Does only one political belief match with religious standards? I sincerely appreciate any input here. :-)

Did anyone else watch Wife Swap, with the wife of “Infidel Guy” and a Christian woman?

Infidel Guy got so upset with the “overbearing” Christian woman that he broke down and cried. It seems that he actually does want acceptance and recognition from the believers. Ouch!

I found it interesting that an atheist house would be so full of merchandise reflecting their opinion. For people who claim to have “no belief,” they seem quite faithful to me. :-)

It was a typical display of the disciplinarian, disaffected Christians and the immoral, family values-lacking atheists. [Christian dad washes his kids’ mouths with soap and mom neglects her daughters emotional needs — Atheist dad spends all his time on the computer while his children do the housework and mom plays the Sims.]

I’m back from nearly 4 days of time with family. It was great and little sad to leave. :-( My parents took us to see Walk the Line, a kind of a necessity for us Cash-and-Carter-lovin’ country-folk. I enjoyed it very much.

I’m going back to Virginia for Thanksgiving. I’m extremely excited about it for a number of reasons. ;-)

The new National Geographic came the other day. It contains some articles about these prehistoric sea creatures which are really horrifying. Take a look at the scary monsters.

I’ve been admin-ing a chatroom on Paltalk for the past few days and I’ve encountered some of the most ill-mannered Muslims you can imagine. Surprisingly (or not?) some of the ones who consider themselves the most religious and “correct” are often the first ones to burst into the room and shout out any of the following scripted lines:

“kaafirs!!”
“you must be sufis!”
“you must be shi’as!”
“you have the wrong ‘aqeedah”
“haraam!”
“you are all going to hell”
“silly, ignorant people”
“hypocrites!”

You get the point. Bravo to all those who continue to uphold the stereotype of the “backward, intolerant” Muslim!

A small bird was killed for interfering with a silly human pastime. Maybe the bird was trying to tell them something.

The bird’s species, the (once-)common house sparrow, is endangered. The humans are playing with dominos… So who has more right in this situation? Apparently it’s the humans, who cornered the tiny bird and shot him.

Hubby bought me some (electronic!) drums yesterday. I had a desire to start playing drums, since I am a percussionist by nature. So now I can quietly (to outsiders) drum away and avoid the real world… :-)

Those are his hands playing them, however.

Speaking of Faith

One of the best programs ever.

This is scary… A guy was arrested and charged with “ethnic intimidation” after he shot (A RIFLE) at cars parked at our local mosque. Hubby and I were just there over the weekend, for Eid. I wonder what would have happened if he had chosen that day instead, while there were dozens of children playing.
