tonight
Yes, indeed. It will rock. [Edit: IT ROCKED. HARD.]
Another thing that rocks is getting back my glasses that I left halfway across the country over a year ago. They are amazing. I missed them so much.

Although Donna Karan is an idiotic bitch for continuing to use fur in her designs… damn it.

Oh, Donna Karan? Damn, I was hoping those were from some Dead Kennedys line of eyewear. I would rock that.
Fur is whack. I just re-dedicated myself to vegetarianism a little while ago after well, not exactly turning away halal/kosher meat for a while. Happily, while my fiancee isn’t a vegetarian per se, she doesn’t really like meat and lives in a culture where people don’t eat all that much of it anyway. Eating bbq tofu with pickled cabbage root and and steam rolls is a perfectly normal way to start the day there.
Hehe, yeah I liked them for the DK too, actually. Shame…
Fur is whack, indeed. I’m glad to hear about your re-dedication, I hope it goes well :-) Congrats on the engagement; what a lucky girl! If you get any excellent tofu recipes from her, please send them my way! :-D
Thanks, but I’m totally the lucky one in the whole deal. But she has a lot of really great vegetarian/vegan Chinese recipes, I’ll send some soon.
So unfair of you to talk glasses this week! I just broke mine (walking into a door…) — for the second time — in less than a year! I also opted for no insurance both times because when I first got the glasses, ‘Oh, it won’t happen’, and after they got repaired the first time, ‘It can’t happen again!’ Well, guess what… This time they didn’t even offer insurance! Which is just as well, because frankly, if they break one more time it’s bound to be a curse of some kind… Which I hope won’t happen, though, because I really like my frames (search Amazon for “B0012K3AR2″).
Ps. My nose still hurts from walking into that door
Saara, I’m so sorry to hear about your incident. Maybe it’ll make you feel better to know this is my third pair as well. I broke my first one a few years ago. I promised the glasses that I would take better care of them, I replaced them and then lost THAT pair on an international flight… I replaced those and then lost them at a family member’s house hundreds of miles away…
Your frames are awesome! (I put a link in your comment)
Hope your nose is okay :-/
Oh, you think you can outshine me? Not a chance!
My first pair of glasses: I dropped them on the ground, and since I can’t really see much without glasses, I couldn’t find them. My dad, who was there, was too busy to come and help me look. When we did finally find them, someone had stepped on them. Needless to say, they were no good anymore.
My second pair: I broke them on a train on my way to another city. I had to manage thru the entire trip alternating between blindness and wearing glasses lacking one armpiece.
My third pair: They were a disaster. While they were my first cute pair, one screw or another was constantly loose, and I think I broke at least one of the lenses, too.
My fouth pair: Pretty much the same as the third. The only consolation was that I got them in Pakistan for 15 dollars.
My fifth pair has been my only solid pair so far. The bad thing is, they’re ugly! But I’m thankful: at least now I have a spare pair to wear (rhyme not intended…) while my other pair gets fixed.
(Seeing it like this… I think I should seriously consider getting laser surgery. I think it’d be much cheaper in the long run!
)
And thanks: my nose is already much better
Oh wow, you totally win!
I also had to get a Pakistani “replacement pair” which had an odd lens that would spontaneously pop out (loose screw like yours).
Are you really considering surgery? I thought about it but then saw it on TV and decided against it. I don’t think I can stand anybody slicing into my eye!
No, not really. I don’t particularly like the idea of anyone poking into my eyes, either… *shivers* Plus, I’m kinda used to having to wear glasses by now. Like the other day I wore contacts, and kept putting my finger in between my eyes to push back the glasses
Oh, and I got my (fixed) glasses back today!
Now I just hope my nose’ll stop making crunchy sounds whenever I blow it…
