HND’s Calligraphy
We finally got our Haji Noor Deen calligraphies framed, so here they are. (One was too big for the frames we bought, sadly.) The size of each is 24″ x 36″ and they are amazing! Keep Reading …

I updated the look a little bit. Apparently, I just have to express my personality!
I don’t really have much to tell. I should get a more interesting life, perhaps. Or maybe just be more open with my blogging?
Although, we have planned a trip to California. It’ll be my first time. I am excited! As a devoted East Coast girl, I never really thought that I would be going to California… ever. But it just so happens that we are. We’re going to be attending the Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs. Mostly for Depeche Mode, but also for the environment and fun. I do intend to take thousands of pics, hence the new camera present. :-)
I’m really, really looking forward to spring… :-(
Finally, a pic from Philadelphia’s Chinatown: The Friendship Arch.
One would think that my new camera had waited its whole life to meet my ring. Thanks hubby! (Celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary.)
This is kind of amazing to me. Hubby and I just returned from FIE, where we saw Haji Noor Deen’s calligraphy presentation and his art displays. I had been wanting to see Haji Noor Deen’s art in person for a long time, so this was a real treat. He was just as I’d imagined he would be: warm, funny and entertaining. Before the night was over, we managed to obtain FIVE original works by Haji Noor Deen; huge, poster sized ones, which I will photograph and post when I can. Ahh…

I’m stupid and therefore no one was able to comment. Thankfully, a friend let me know about it; I have (hopefully?) fixed the problem. :-)
And something funny: Cheney’s Got a Gun
Also, I’m going to be in Virginia until Sunday, all comments will be moderated, posts will be none. Leaving you with pics of our dinner:
Tofu Hyderabadi and Rice (with onions, cinnamon, bayleaf and garlic!)

I’ve been watching the Alito hearing… It’s basically a bunch of Republicans complimenting him, his family and his past, while glossing over and brushing aside any critique of Alito, followed by a comment about the previous Democrat’s poor tact (How dare you hurt his wife! You made her cry!)
Then a Democrat, chasing Alito through his endless sidesteps, abstract and vague answers and issues with “recollection.” Back and forth.
And the callers to C-SPAN; the obligatory “heez’a best man fur’tha job! ‘merakin peepo’ needz ta lissen ta senaterz talkin’ ’bout his past! Heez an excellunt judge! Them crazy lib’rulz ain’t in touch with tha mainstreem ‘merikins.” … caller from _x_ southern state…
And spacing out with my new Lava Lamp… ohhh yeaaaah.
Hubs and I finally saw the latest Harry Potter (Goblet of Fire) … in an IMAX theatre. It was quite an exhilarating experience. The movie was awesome. Even though I think it has been playing for a month, the whole theatre was full! YAY, HARRY!!!
[Sorry, pics of my apartment were removed, because some “Salafi” is coming to kill me and my family. Damn.]
Depeche Mode…
Madison Square Garden…
New York City…
See the pictures from my New York trip. I didn’t take my camera to the concert, however… so just NYC pics. :-)

Emily vanished from her home in late September. She apparently wandered into a nearby paper company’s distribution center and crawled into a container of paper bales.
The container went by truck to Chicago and by ship to Belgium before the cat was found Oct. 24 at Raflatac, a laminating company in Nancy, France. Emily, who turned 1 year old that very day, was thin and thirsty but still alive.
Emily’s escort, Newark-based Continental employee George Chiladze, said he was thrilled to be taking Emily back across the Atlantic.
“I will make somebody really happy to deliver this poor traveler back home,” he said.
